COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
HUARAHI ARATIKA
With the removal of the Housing New Zealand (HNZ) owned houses, there is an opportunity to reshape Maraenui. There is potential to improve housing, streetscapes and maximise community amenities (facilities, public spaces etc). Currently, growth in Napier is low. This affects the demand for housing. Making improvements in Maraenui may increase demand for housing here and new development could happen. Increasing home ownership for current residents will help drive demand too.
